Galleria Susanna Orlando Celebrates 50 Years with Fluxus Exhibition Featuring Giuseppe Chiari

To mark its 50th anniversary, Galleria Susanna Orlando in Pietrasanta presents 'Yes We Fluxus! Party Chiari e Amicizie Fluxus', a group exhibition dedicated to Italian Fluxus artist Giuseppe Chiari. Curated by Paolo Emilio Antognoli, the show runs until June 7, 2026, and features 16 previously unseen works from a Florentine studio where Chiari worked. The exhibition places Chiari in dialogue with other Fluxus figures including George Maciunas, Joseph Beuys, John Cage, Nam June Paik, Yoko Ono, Giancarlo Cardini, Gianni Melotti, and Carlo Battisti. The installation transforms the gallery into a stage-like space, with Chiari's scores displayed as graphic works. The show culminates in a wall of Fluxus memorabilia and Chiari's 'suitcase sculptures', which metaphorically contain the entire exhibition. Carlo Battisti contributes sound sculptures, including a vintage bicycle and a flower. Gallerist Susanna Orlando conceived the show as a celebration of Fluxus's playful, relational spirit, stating she wanted to 'make a party' and emphasize creative connections.
