Galleria Christian Stein Opens Storage Facility to Public for 60th Anniversary Exhibition

Galleria Christian Stein, a Milan-based contemporary art gallery founded in 1966, is publicly opening its storage facility in Pero, on the outskirts of Milan, to mark its 60th anniversary. The exhibition transforms the former industrial space into an active, accessible environment where artworks typically viewable only by appointment will be displayed from April 10 to June 6, 2026. This initiative redefines the concept of art storage and public access, presenting the facility not as a passive repository but as a dynamic exhibition space where works from different generations engage in dialogue. The gallery has a history of integrating its physical spaces into the artistic experience, having operated from locations in Turin and Milan. The Pero depot continues this approach, featuring large-scale installations and works by historical and contemporary artists, including Mario Merz, Jannis Kounellis, Luciano Fabro, and Giuseppe Penone.
