Galerie Sardine Leaves Amagansett Farmhouse for Tribeca

Galerie Sardine, founded by art director Valentina Akerman, is relocating from its 18th-century farmhouse in Amagansett to a permanent space in Tribeca. The gallery, which also serves as Akerman's residence with her husband artist Joe Bradley and their four children, opened in 2024 and quickly gained attention for its eclectic programming featuring artists like Sophie von Hellermann, Nate Lowman, and Ida Ekblad. Akerman announced the move in April, marking a bittersweet transition as this summer will be the gallery's last in the Hamptons. Despite initial hesitation about leaving the itinerant, site-specific model, Akerman notes the leap has paid off, proving the gallery's intimate feel can be exported. Galerie Sardine will maintain a seasonal presence in the Hamptons, with its final Amagansett season featuring a show pairing Lagos-based painter Tonia Nneji with Loewe Craft Prize finalist Jane Yang-D'Haene, plus a textile installation by Kritika Manchanda and Rafael Prieto.
