Galerie Mitterrand to Open New Space on Avenue Matignon in Paris

The Galerie Mitterrand will open a new space at 28, avenue Matignon in Paris on 20 October 2026, following an inauguration the previous evening during the Nocturne Matignon-Saint-Honoré. Founded in 1988 by Jean-Gabriel Mitterrand on rue Jacques-Callot in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the gallery left the Left Bank in 2004 to settle on rue du Temple in the Marais. In 2024 it opened a space at 95, rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré, and it closed its Marais address in June. The gallery now has two locations in the 8th arrondissement. The news was reported by Julien Tribut in Le Journal des Arts on 18 September 2026. The move comes as Galerie Almine Rech closed its own space at 18, avenue Matignon this summer, having opened it in 2021 and expanded it in 2022, to consolidate its Paris programming at 64, rue de Turenne in the Marais.
