GaHee Park gets first US solo museum show at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts

The Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco is set to present "GaHee Park: Behind the Curtain," marking the first solo institutional exhibition in the United States for artist GaHee Park, who was born in Seoul and is currently based in Montreal (b. 1985). Curated by Dorothy Dávila, this exhibition will open on August 7, 2026, showcasing five years of Park's artistic journey. The collection includes paintings that delve into themes such as sexuality, mortality, fantasy, identity, and alienation, all viewed through a surrealist perspective. With a palette of gray and pink, Park’s striking, erotic visuals challenge the audience's perception, placing female figures in subtle positions of strength and reflecting a feminist interpretation of femininity.
