Gabriel Rico's First LA Solo Show at Perrotin

Gabriel Rico is showcasing his inaugural solo exhibition, titled "Gabrielinos (I Am You And What I See Is Me)," at Perrotin in Los Angeles. This collection includes a diverse array of textiles, sculptures, and assemblages that examine the interaction between humanity and the natural world. Hailing from Jalisco, Rico draws inspiration from conventional Mexican artistic traditions while incorporating methods from the Wixárika Indigenous community of San Andrés Cohamiata, Tateikie. Following pilgrimages with the Wixárika, he worked alongside local artisans to integrate their techniques into his artistic pieces, enriching the cultural narrative of the exhibit.
