Fundación Bancaja Exhibition Explores Tàpies' Final Decade of Artistic Production

The Fundación Bancaja in Valencia is presenting an exhibition focusing on Antoni Tàpies' artistic output during the last ten years of his life, from 2002 to 2012. Curated by Fernando Castro Flórez, the show features approximately twenty large-scale works, including previously unseen pieces like 'Morat' (2005) and 'Autoretrat' (2011), primarily drawn from the Tàpies family collection. The exhibition highlights three central themes in his late work: the human body, symbolic elements, and everyday objects incorporated into his compositions. Additional materials include photographs of the artist's home in Campins and a documentary film. The exhibition runs from March 6 to August 30, 2026, offering insight into Tàpies' mature artistic language and his continued exploration of materiality and symbolism.
