Fripon Relaunches Lars-Erik Ejlers's Filosof Pendant Lamp from 1990

architecture-design · 2026-03-19

Danish design firm Fripon has reintroduced the Filosof pendant lamp, originally designed by architect Lars-Erik Ejlers in 1990 for the Cap Horn restaurant in Copenhagen's Nyhavn district. The metallic fixture, featuring three shades made of brass, copper, and black anodised aluminium, is being produced in Denmark using traditional metal spinning techniques. The relaunch aims to honor Ejlers, who passed away in 2024, with the company founded by family member Niels Ejlers to preserve his legacy. The lamp is assembled at the Hans Knudsen Instituttet, a social enterprise.
