Friends of the Susquehanna River Art Collection Acquires Robert Henri Painting

The Friends of the Susquehanna River Art Collection has added a notable piece titled Rainstorm-Wyoming Valley, created by American artist Robert Henri in 1902. This purchase was made possible thanks to funding from Georgina T. and Thomas A. Russo, along with additional support from Founding Friends and Trustees. Joe Deerin, who chairs the Friends, pointed out that Georgina was the first to spot this painting, clarifying that it depicts Wyoming, Pennsylvania, not the state of Wyoming. As part of the Friends Collections Committee, she played a key role in advocating for this acquisition, which is seen as an important reflection of the heritage of the Susquehanna River watershed.
