Frida Orupabo's First Solo Exhibition in Portugal Opens at MAC/CCB

"Cloud of Confusion," the inaugural solo exhibition in Portugal by Norwegian-Nigerian artist Frida Orupabo, has been launched at the MAC/CCB in Lisbon. Curated by Marta Mestre, this exhibition will be on display from June 3 to November 1, 2026, located on floor -1 of the museum. Orupabo's extensive collection of images sourced from Instagram serves as the foundation for the show, where themes of intimacy, violence, and mass media intersect. The experience begins with the familiar act of scrolling through an Instagram feed, transforming this digital routine into a tangible journey. The installation features a linear sequence of eight moments, engaging with the museum's architecture while contemplating images, memory, violence, and the digital frameworks that influence perceptions of Black bodies.
