Frick Collection Spring Party Opens Gardens and New Galleries

The Frick Collection hosted its annual Spring Garden Party over two nights, giving Fellows, Young Fellows, and their guests a rare chance to explore the historic Fifth Avenue Garden after hours, which is typically closed to the public. Attendees savored the vibrant gardens and the recently reopened second-floor galleries, restored just last year. The event featured champagne, cocktails, and live jazz performed by Juilliard School musicians, along with insightful talks from curators. To celebrate the New York Knicks’ win that night, the museum lit up its façade in the team colors of blue and orange. The exhibition "Ruffles & Ribbons: Fashion Plates from the Time of Marie Antoinette" showcased 24 hand-colored engravings of 18th-century French fashion, alongside works from renowned artists like Rembrandt and J. M. W. Turner. The host committee included Director Axel Rüger and several notable supporters.
