Frescobaldi's Artist Project Launches in South Korea with Sunmin Park's Exhibition
The Frescobaldi artist initiative has debuted in South Korea with an exhibition titled 'Pale Pink Universe' by Korean artist Sunmin Park. Curated by Joanne Kim, the solo show is on view at CHAPTER II in Seoul until May 8. Originally presented at Tenuta CastelGiocondo in October 2025, the project explores wine and nature as living, evolving entities through a poetic investigation. It includes a single-channel video, a sculpture, and a series of drawings, creating a visual and sensory universe where microscopic and symbolic dimensions intertwine. The video, structured in three movements, begins with a wine drop illuminated like a gem, moves through floral landscapes, and ends with a grape, suggesting a suspended life cycle. The sound component, created by Bojan Vuletic, blends with the artist's voice reciting verses by Dino Frescobaldi, linking historical memory with contemporary perception. For the Seoul installation, the exhibition extends into the urban space via the gallery's glass facade: seven drawings inspired by Art Nouveau decorations from the Tuscan estate interact with the city's visual rhythm, generating a subtle tension between past and present. A new bronze sculpture, 'First of the Twenty-Two' (2026), completes the display, reflecting on contemplation and the gradual dissolution of boundaries between observer and observed. This marks the first time the Frescobaldi project has been presented in South Korea, highlighting cross-cultural artistic dialogue.
