French municipal elections trigger wave of cultural project cancellations

Nice's new mayor Éric Ciotti cut €800,000 from the Jazz Fest, Europe's oldest jazz festival, as part of €60 million in savings. In Roubaix, mayor David Guiraud stopped the privatization of the Parc des Sports, jeopardizing a €40 million redevelopment including a cycling museum.
