Frank Bowling Foundation Launches; Frieze London Returns; Monet Works at Sotheby's
On June 24, the Frank Bowling Foundation will be established as an educational charity aimed at enhancing public access to Frank Bowling's artwork, which includes a significant donation of his personal archive and artworks. The foundation will offer scholarships for art schools in London and will also support the Whitechapel Gallery and South London Gallery. Frieze London is scheduled for October 15–18, featuring 172 exhibitors such as Amanda Wilkinson and VeneKlasen. Frieze Seoul will host 125 exhibitors from September 2–5. Independent 20th Century will take place at the Breuer from September 24–27 with 56 exhibitors. Additionally, Sotheby's London will auction two Monet pieces on June 24, and Christie's London achieved £18.9 million at its South Asian art sale on June 11. Tone Hansen is departing MUNCH for Moderna Museet, and both David Hockney and Duane Michals have passed away.
