François Poitou & Pumpkin Announce New Album 'Ancré Chaos' and French Tour
François Poitou & Pumpkin have announced their second collaborative album, 'Ancré Chaos', set for release this autumn on the independent label Quai Son records. The eleven-track record follows their debut 'Arômes Complexes' and blends jazz and rap, with Pumpkin's poetic lyrics exploring themes of human nature, day and night, love and war, and past and future. The bassist's sophisticated compositions and arrangements incorporate elements of boom bap, trap, subtle grooves, and melodies, alongside refined improvisations that range from intimate to energetic. The project features drummer Stéphane Adsuar, trumpeter Olivier Laisney, and saxophonist Maxime Berton. Mixing and mastering were handled by Blanka at Kasablanka Mastering. A tour across France will accompany the release, with a concert at Le Hasard Ludique in Paris. The event is a partner of Club Artistik Rezo.
