Francisco Valdés Explores Perception and Artificiality in London Exhibition

Chilean-born artist Francisco Valdés presents his second solo exhibition 'Artificial' at Cecilia Brunson Projects in London from February 28 to April 11, 2026. The show features recent paintings that investigate visual perception, materiality of light, and the constructed nature of images. Valdés, who studied at Goldsmiths University of London, creates works that transform found photographs through digital and manual processes, resulting in paintings that shift between abstraction and figuration depending on viewing distance. The exhibition highlights connections within London's Latin American art community, with curator Pablo León de la Barra participating in the opening conversation. Valdés also presented new works in 'Sun Tracks' at Florence Trust in March 2026.
