Fragonard's supply chain director Céline Principiano on sourcing and production in Grasse

Céline Principiano, director of purchasing and production at Fragonard, oversees the entire supply chain from raw material procurement to boutique delivery. Born in Cannes and educated in Cannes and Nice, she initially studied pharmacology and biochemistry before joining Fragonard in 2006 in regulatory affairs. Twenty years later, she has led the key department of purchasing, production, logistics, and regulatory quality for eight years. Principiano emphasizes Grasse's unique advantage of local plant cultivation for essential oils and absolutes, describing Fragonard's role as an orchestrator transforming raw materials into emotion. For Fragonard's centenary, the house created L'Air de Grasse using centifolia rose from its own gardens, with employees participating in the harvest. She highlights the company's family values, internal promotion, and long-tenured staff. On sustainability, she notes that refillable containers have existed since Fragonard's early days, and the company uses solar panels for half its electricity, recycled glass, FSC paper packaging, and just-in-time production to avoid overproduction.
