Fort Treehouse Co Launches Off-Grid Treehouse Hotel in Ontario Forest

Fort Treehouse Co, founded by Lauren and Cam Green, has opened Hårtwood, an off-grid treehouse hotel in rural Minden, Ontario. The development includes three private treehouses and a communal hub called The Hydda, all designed by Toronto-based Studio KSA to integrate with living trees while minimizing environmental impact. Canadian arborist Philip van Wassenaer of Urban Forest Innovations selected the host trees based on species, health, and growth potential. The hotel borders the protected Dahl Forest and Burnt River, offering guests immersive nature experiences with amenities like kitchens, fireplaces, and planned forest spa facilities. The project expands on the founders' earlier successful treehouse rental, The Baltic.
