Fondazione Prada Film Fund Opens Second Call for Independent Cinema Projects

Fondazione Prada has revealed the launch of its second Film Fund edition, an annual program aimed at bolstering independent cinema with a total budget of €1.5 million. Submissions are currently being accepted, with deadlines set for August 6, 2026, for production-phase projects and September 10, 2026, for those in development and post-production. The selected projects will be announced in February 2027. The inaugural edition in 2025 attracted over 1,200 entries globally, resulting in the selection of 14 films from directors such as Natalia Almada and Apichatpong Weerasethakul. Each project can receive up to €250,000, with financial and artistic oversight provided. Paolo Moretti, along with Rebecca De Pas, curates the program, highlighting the vital need for independent cinema support. Miuccia Prada reaffirmed the foundation's dedication to filmmakers pursuing innovative cinema across all genres and regions.
