FOG Architecture Renovates Shanghai Villa with Light-Filled Minimalist Design

FOG Architecture, a Chinese studio, has completed the renovation of a three-story villa in Shanghai's western suburbs. The 500-square-meter residence, designed for a multigenerational family, emphasizes natural lighting, tactile materials, and curved lines to create a flexible, calming interior. Features include large windows, skylights, textured walls, terrazzo floors, and a sandy color palette, aiming to foster both connection and solitude among residents. The studio, founded by Zheng Yu and Zhan Di, won emerging interior designer of the year at Dezeen Awards China 2023.
