Fluctuart presents 'Chacun cherche son Chat,' an exhibition exploring the multifaceted symbolism of cats through the perspectives of twelve urban artists. Curated by Eva Quintard, the show runs from May 7 to August 23, with a public vernissage on May 6 starting at 6 PM. The exhibition examines how cats have served as artistic companions since the 19th century, representing independence, enigmatic beauty, and freedom. Today, their influence extends into digital culture, where they provide global comfort and entertainment. Participating artists include AGRUME, ARDIF, CLET, KESADI, KRAKEN, MADAME, MOSKO, RUBEN CARRASCO, SCAK, VEKS VAN HILLIK, and WENNA. Quintard's curatorial approach focuses on creating accessible, fluid exhibitions that bridge ancient symbols with contemporary urban art practices, allowing for multiple interpretations. She aims to connect simple, popular symbols with broader narratives, using the cat's familiar yet elusive nature as a graphic playground, narrative character, pop icon, and philosophical presence. The exhibition invites visitors to discover their own 'inner cat' through diverse artistic interpretations spanning literature, quantum physics, illustration, and kitsch aesthetics.
