Fitzrovia Chapel Taps George Vasey as 2027 Curator in Residence for Three Solo Shows
In 2027, George Vasey has been named Curator in Residence at the Fitzrovia Chapel in London, where he will manage three solo exhibitions scheduled for January, April, and November. The series kicks off with Christian Ovonlen (b. 1987) in January, followed by Eileen Cooper OBE RA (b. 1953) in April, and wraps up with Aliaskar Abarkas (b. 1994) in November. Each exhibition will delve into themes of transformation and catharsis, reflecting the chapel's rich history. Vasey highlighted the significance of art in challenging times. The initiative receives backing from Intoart, University College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and Teesside University. Previously, the Fitzrovia Chapel served as the chapel for the Middlesex Hospital.
