Filip Karl Edward Arkitektur Designs Compact 'Less is Enough' Vacation House in Denmark

A new vacation house designed by Filip Karl Edward Arkitektur embraces a minimalist 'Less is Enough' philosophy for summer living in Sjællands Odde, Denmark. Completed in 2025, the 95 m² structure prioritizes durable, sustainable materials and thoughtful spatial concepts over maximizing square footage. The project was curated by Hadir Al Koshta, with photography by Ditte Auguste Mørkholt. Rather than accommodating everyday standards of permanent residence, the compact house intentionally leaves behind conventional comforts to focus on family summer gatherings. The client's requirement was for a new summer house that could host the entire family throughout the season in one location. Instead of allocating budget toward expansive spaces, investments were directed toward material quality and spatial intelligence. The design consciously rejects prioritizing large areas and maximum comfort, acknowledging the structure's seasonal purpose.
