Feuerle Collection Marks 10th Anniversary with Adam Fuss Exhibition in Berlin Bunker Museum

The Feuerle Collection, a private museum established in 2016 within a repurposed telecommunications bunker in Berlin, is celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2026. Founded by Désiré Feuerle and Sara Puig, the institution occupies a space redesigned by British architect John Pawson. To mark this milestone, the museum is presenting an exhibition by British artist Adam Fuss, born in London in 1961, scheduled to coincide with the Berlin Gallery Weekend from May 1-3. This exhibition reflects the institution's longstanding commitment to a sensory and contemplative engagement with art. Over its first decade, the Feuerle Collection has evolved into a multidisciplinary platform, hosting temporary exhibitions, performances, film screenings, and programs involving incense and tea ceremonies, meditation, and sound research. Since 2022, it has placed particular emphasis on supporting young Asian performance artists based in Berlin. The museum's curatorial approach deliberately avoids conventional museum narratives by eliminating textual and explanatory materials, aiming to foster a direct connection between artworks and visitors. The environment, characterized by carefully orchestrated light and shadow, is designed to enhance emotional rather than academic interpretation. Alongside recent works by Adam Fuss, the anniversary exhibition includes a Renaissance drawing attributed to Leonardo da Vinci. This drawing is documented in 19th-century French archives related to the 1865 dispersal of the collection belonging to Count de Pourtalès-Gorgier. This juxtaposition of works from different eras underscores the collection's focus on creating visual and temporal dialogues.
