Ferry capsizes off Guyana, 66 missing
A ferry, the MV Barima, with over 100 passengers, overturned near the coast of Guyana. Rescue operations are underway for those still missing, with 67 individuals already saved. The vessel departed from Georgetown on Saturday afternoon, carrying 133 people to Port Kaituma in the Essequibo region. Public Works Minister Juan Edghill reported that the ferry likely capsized due to a large wave. Prime Minister Mark Phillips confirmed that among those rescued were 41 men, 11 women, six boys, and nine girls.
