Faravaz Releases Butterfly EP with Collaborative Music Video Ahead of Trans Visibility Day

On March 20, 2026, musician Faravaz launched the EP titled Butterfly, which was accompanied by a music video directed by Kerstin Polte on March 30. The video's release occurred shortly before Trans Visibility Day. This project represents a collective effort emphasizing community, with leadership and contributions from FLINTA and queer artists. Participants include performers such as Yaenniver, Mine, Sookee, the D-Dur Dykes Choir—noted as Europe's largest FLINTA choir—along with Lin and others. The EP contains four distinct interpretations of a single track, each venturing into varied musical styles and emotional tones while preserving consistent lyrical and melodic elements. An instrumental version is also provided for audience engagement. Compared to earlier works, this release highlights collaborative creation, incorporating rhythmic elements suitable for dancing and enhanced emotional expression, particularly in an acoustic arrangement. The initiative arises from concerns about the persecution faced by queer individuals in locations like Iran and Afghanistan, where issues include violence, social pressures, and conflict. Through Butterfly, the artists intend to establish a space for visibility, mutual support, and community connection, affirming solidarity for marginalized groups.
