Fani Konstantinidou Releases Immersive Album 'Undertones' on Moving Furniture
Fani Konstantinidou, a composer and performer, has released the album 'Undertones' on the Moving Furniture label. The work explores the relationship between space, sound, and environmental recordings, using percussion idiophones, discrete electronics, and variable field recordings. The album is structured in four movements: 'Undertones I' features delicate fragments and subtle pulsations; 'Undertones II' introduces darker tension with percussion and electronic textures; 'Undertones III' emphasizes silences and echoes; and 'Undertones IV' concludes with a broader, dynamic movement. The project was supported by Amsterdam's Fonds voor de Kunst and mastered by sound artist Jos Smolders. Each performance is unique due to the variable recordings and performer interpretation.
