Exhibition Explores Women's Journeys Through Art at Ecuador's MAAC Museum

Curator Alexandra Kennedy-Troya organized 'Viajeras y Errantes: Diálogos im-pertinentes' at the Museo de Antropología y Arte Contemporáneo (MAAC) in Guayaquil, Ecuador, from August 28, 2025, to February 22, 2026. The exhibition examined travel and wandering through works by historical and contemporary women connected to Ecuador, including the Galápagos Islands. It featured 23 artists such as Manuela Ribadeneira, Karina Aguilera Skvirsky, Yanara Guayasamín, and Karin Iturralde, presenting installations, videos, and sculptures across five thematic sections exploring migration, memory, colonialism, and spirituality. The project aimed to highlight women's experiences often overlooked in traditional travel narratives.
