Exhibition at UB Art Galleries Honors Robert Creeley's Collaborative Art on Centenary

UB Art Galleries has launched an exhibition titled 'Robert Creeley: Active Complement' to mark the centenary of poet Robert Creeley. The display draws from the UB Poetry Collection and UB Art Galleries Collection, examining Creeley's diverse methods of collaborative artmaking as a core aspect of his creative work. The exhibition highlights how Creeley's poems interacted with visual art—sometimes inspiring new artworks, sometimes responding to existing pieces, and sometimes being created in real-time dialogue with artists. His collaborative approach was flexible, tailored to each partnership's unique dynamics.
