Evan Yionoulis Leaves Juilliard Drama Division to Lead Yale School of Drama
Evan Yionoulis, who has served as the dean of The Juilliard School's drama division since 2018, will transition to the role of dean at the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale University on July 1, succeeding the retiring James Bundy. Yionoulis has deep connections to Yale, having held the Lloyd Richards Chair from 1998 to 2003 and directed 14 productions at the Yale Repertory Theatre. During her tenure at Juilliard, she launched a tuition-free M.F.A. program and managed a significant renovation project. Yale's drama school also provides a tuition-free MFA and acting opportunities, with Yionoulis taking on the position of artistic director at the Yale Repertory Theatre. Yale President Maurie McInnis and Provost Scott Strobel commended her contributions to acting education.
