exhibition · 2026-03-20

HALLE FÜR KUNST Steiermark in Graz is presenting 'The Art of Surfacing,' a solo exhibition by Austrian artist Eva Ursprung, who received the 2024 Honorary Prize of the State of Styria for Fine Arts. The show, running until April 19, 2026, focuses on water as a central metaphor for ecological responsibility, social transformation, and geopolitical processes. Ursprung's four-decade career spans music, video, performance, and installation work, with particular recognition for her pioneering cyberfeminist approach in Austria. The exhibition features works addressing climate change, historical resistance during National Socialism, and global water systems, alongside a parallel presentation dedicated to Austrian artist and Òrìṣà priestess Susanne Wenger. Curated by Sandro Droschl and Caro Feistritzer, the presentation includes an accompanying events program exploring themes of water, transformation, and resistance.
