Esteban Pardo's Play Arquitectura Wins National Sustainable Construction Award for Zaragoza Kindergarten
Since its inception in 2006 in Logroño, Esteban Pardo Calderón has established Play Arquitectura as a pioneer in biopassive architecture. The firm embraced the Passivhaus standard in 2010 and recently received the Premio Nacional de Construcción Sostenible for the Escuela Infantil en Parque Venecia in Zaragoza, which is the city's inaugural public Passivhaus structure, completed in just seven months using a lightweight wood frame system. As a certified Passivhaus Designer, Pardo heads a team that dedicates 90% of its efforts to this standard. Upcoming projects will focus on net-zero buildings and cutting-edge materials. The Zaragoza school will be featured at the 6º Fórum Internacional de Construcción con Madera in Pamplona.
