Esmé Creed-Miles Shares Behind-the-Scenes Photography from New 'Sense and Sensibility' Adaptation

Esmé Creed-Miles, who plays Marianne Dashwood in the upcoming film adaptation of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility, has shared a series of behind-the-scenes photographs she took on set. The images, featured in Vogue Australia's October 2026 issue, include a portrait of co-stars Daisy Edgar-Jones and George MacKay that Creed-Miles believes should be the film's poster. The adaptation, scripted by Diana Reid, is set for theatrical release on October 16. It stars Edgar-Jones as Elinor Dashwood, MacKay as Edward Ferrars, and Creed-Miles as Marianne, with Frank Dillane as Willoughby. Directed by Georgia Oakley, the film was shot over a summer in England, including scenes at Kingston Russell House, which serves as Norland Park, and on Dartmoor. Creed-Miles, an avid photographer, captured candid moments of the cast and crew, including ball sequences choreographed by Holly Blakey. She credits cinematographer Arnaud Potier with helping her understand lighting. The production benefited from the close friendship between Creed-Miles and Edgar-Jones, who first met as teenagers on the film Pond Life. Edgar-Jones describes their bond as family-like and says she treasures the framed photos Creed-Miles gave her as a wrap gift. The novel, Austen's first published work, explores the bond between sisters Elinor and Marianne as they navigate love and heartbreak. This adaptation follows Emma Thompson's beloved 1995 film version.
