Eric Firestone Gallery Presents 'Couples' Exhibition Featuring 26 Artist Partnerships

Eric Firestone Gallery is currently hosting an exhibition titled 'Couples,' which showcases collaborative works by 26 artistic duos. The show explores themes of connection and unity through abstract paintings and sculptures that often reference relationships between individuals, digital realms, and cosmic spaces. Included are historical pieces by three American Surrealist pairs: Jeanne Reynal and Thomas Sills, Luchita Hurtado and Lee Mullican, and Madge Knight with Charles Houghton Howard. Hurtado's art blends abstract forms with bodily and landscape elements, while Reynal employed mosaic techniques to craft textured surfaces, echoing Mullican's dynamic compositions. Sills, an African American artist from North Carolina, utilized distinctive color schemes to merge figurative and background elements. The exhibition serves as a visual metaphor for partnership and collective identity.
