Emmanuel Larcenet's 'Il rapporto di Brodeck' Published in New Integral Italian Edition by Coconino Press and Fandango
Coconino Press and Fandango have released a new integral Italian edition of Emmanuel Larcenet's graphic novel 'Il rapporto di Brodeck,' translated by Francesca Scala. The 336-page black-and-white hardcover, priced at 36 euros in a 30x20 cm format, collects both books previously issued by the Bologna-based publisher. The work adapts Philippe Claudel's novel, whose 2003 book 'Le anime grigie' won the Prix Renaudot and the Lire best book of the year award and was translated into thirty countries. Set in a small mountain village on the French-German border at the end of World War II, the story follows Brodeck, a former deportee who survived the camps and returned home, as villagers task him with reconstructing the circumstances of a stranger's unexplained killing. His inquiry begins at the Schloss inn. Larcenet, born in 1969 in a small town near Paris and known as Manu, is among the most prolific and influential figures in the bande dessinée scene and among its most globally recognized authors. His previous graphic novels include 'Lo scontro quotidiano' (2003), 'Blast' (2012) and 'La strada' (2024). The edition features a new cover and a gallery of illustrations and portraits. The publisher also recommends 'Il cacciatore Gracco,' made by Martoz from an unfinished story by the German-language Bohemian Jewish writer, also issued by Coconino Press and Fandango.
