Elissa Watters Named Curator of European Art at High Museum
Elissa Watters has been appointed the Frances B. Bunzl Family curator of European art at the High Museum of Art, effective July 20, 2026. In her new role, she will oversee the museum's European Art department, which houses a collection of over 1,100 works spanning from the 1300s to the 1900s. Watters previously served as a guest curator at the USC Fisher Museum of Art and the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center, and was a research assistant at the Getty Research Institute. She was also a Florence B. Selden senior fellow at the Yale University Art Gallery from 2018 to 2021.
