Ed Alcock Wins 2025 Niépce Prize, Exhibition at Château de Tours

At the Château de Tours, the Jeu de Paume is hosting Ed Alcock's exhibition titled "Secrets and Lies," which highlights fifteen years of his photographic exploration of themes such as family, identity, and transmission. Alcock, who hails from Norwich (UK) and was born in 1974, has been residing in France since 2000 and is affiliated with the Myop agency. He received the Niépce Gens d’Images Prize in 2025, an accolade given annually since 1955 to professional photographers under 50 who are either French or have lived in France for more than three years, with his nomination supported by Dominique Gaessler. Alongside his press work for The New York Times, The Guardian, Le Monde, and El País, Alcock delves into personal projects centered on family secrets. For four consecutive years, the Jeu de Paume has featured the previous year's award winner at this venue.
