ECAL Presents Typographic Atlas Exhibition Featuring 300 Student Typefaces

ECAL (École cantonale d'art de Lausanne) has organized an exhibition titled 'ECAL A Typographic Atlas' that showcases 300 typefaces created by students from its Master Type Design and Bachelor Graphic Design programs. The exhibition presents typography as a dynamic cultural practice through a navigational system that organizes works alphabetically and numerically, transforming the gallery into a map. Designed by Adrien Rovero, the modular display creates a continuous visual field where visitors explore typographic terrain. The show highlights ECAL's educational approach rooted in Swiss design traditions and emphasizes typography's role in visual culture, language, and technology. Currently on view in Turin through March 12, 2026, the exhibition is designed to travel to additional locations.
