Dorian Grinspan's Upstate New York Home Blends French Modernism and Japanese Aesthetics

Dorian Grinspan, a 33-year-old film producer from Paris, purchased an 18th-century farmhouse in Old Chatham, New York, in late 2020. The property, located between Hudson and the Berkshires, spans nearly 70 acres and features three bedrooms and two baths. Grinspan has decorated the home to merge French Modernist simplicity with Japanese wabi-sabi principles, incorporating items such as vintage furniture, custom drapery, and international folk art. Minor renovations included updating the foyer and adding a back kitchen. The design reflects his background, including his mother's influence as a furniture designer and his experience founding a fashion magazine at Yale.
