DOOSAN Humanities Theater 2026 Exhibition Explores Fluid Identities

DOOSAN Art Center presents 'The Multilingual,' a special exhibition of the DOOSAN Humanities Theater 2026, running from June 24 to August 1. The show challenges conventional categories like nationality, gender, language, and age, proposing a view of humanity as complex and fluid. Artists Choey Eun Young Cho, Chung Seoyoung, Gim Ikhyun, and IM Youngzoo employ visual strategies such as indirect seeing, misunderstanding, abstraction, simultaneity, layering, and concealing to portray human beings shaped by time, memory, and relationships. Choey Eun Young Cho, who works between Korea and the United States, treats language as material in her practice, informed by her experiences of displacement and linguistic dissonance. Her work 'I Ordered a New Body and It Never' is featured.
