Dolores Huerta Exhibition at Plaza de la Raza Celebrates Labor Leader Amid Chavez Reckoning

The Boathouse Gallery at Plaza de la Raza is hosting the exhibition DOLORES to celebrate the 96th birthday of activist Dolores Huerta, which will be open until April 12 at 3540 North Mission Road, Lincoln Park, Los Angeles. The showcase features artists such as Barbara Carrasco, Vincent Valdez, and Karla Diaz, presenting a variety of mediums including screenprinting, photography, video, and mixed media. In light of recent sexual abuse allegations against her co-founder Cesar Chavez, which have resulted in his name being removed from public spaces, the exhibition focuses on the United Farm Workers narrative without Chavez. Noteworthy artworks include Daniel Gibson's "Strawberry Mom" and Karla Diaz's "Los Desaparecidos," highlighting the ongoing struggles of farmworkers.
