Dolly Parton's Manager Seeks Restraining Order Against Fired Nephew Over Alleged Threats
On Tuesday, Danny Nozell, who has managed Dolly Parton for many years and represents She’s Alive, LLC (SAL), sought a restraining order and jury trial in a Tennessee court against Bryan Seaver, Parton’s nephew and former security chief. Seaver was let go on September 15, about three weeks after Parton passed away on August 25. The court documents accuse Seaver, who operates Squadron Augmented Protection Services, LLC (SAPS), of coercion, extortion, and making violent threats. He allegedly referred to himself as a “killer” and “mercenary” in texts, threatening to “destroy the entire brand” and promising to create a podcast aimed at damaging Dolly’s brand partnerships unless compensated. SAL asserts that Seaver’s conduct led to the withdrawal of Parton’s trusts and estates attorney, staff resignations, and the necessity for the company to hire private security. Seaver, who had been with Parton for approximately 20 years, claimed to TMZ that the messages were merely “rage talk” among grieving individuals and denied any threats. He is the son of Parton’s sister, Cassie. The filing requests urgent relief due to an ongoing safety issue. Meanwhile, Parton’s museum is scheduled to open in Nashville in early October, with a nearby hotel having soft-launched, and a Broadway musical about her life set to debut later this year.
