Dina Deitsch Appointed as Director of Wellesley College's Davis Museum

Wellesley College has announced the appointment of Dina Deitsch as the new Ruth Gordon Shapiro '37 Director of the Davis Museum. The announcement was made by Wellesley College President Paula Johnson and Provost Courtney Coile. Deitsch, who currently serves as director and chief curator of Tufts University Art Galleries, will assume her role at Wellesley in mid-July. In their statement, Johnson and Coile highlighted Deitsch's leadership qualities, noting her dynamic vision for integrating the museum into the college's liberal arts curriculum. They emphasized her background in academic museum environments, her strong ties to the Boston art scene, and her specialized knowledge in contemporary art as key factors in her selection. At Tufts, where she has worked since 2017, Deitsch oversaw significant organizational transformations, developed a vibrant exhibition and event schedule, and fostered collaborations with campus groups to enhance the arts' prominence. This appointment marks a new phase for the Davis Museum, with Deitsch expected to guide its future direction and community engagement.
