Digital Media Artist r e a Presents Retrospective Exhibition at Australian Centre for Contemporary Art

The Australian Centre for Contemporary Art in Melbourne is hosting an exhibition featuring digital media artist r e a from December 2, 2025, to March 15, 2026. The artist, who identifies as Gamilaraay, Wailwan and Biripi, works across photography, video, sound, performance and multi-sensory installations. The show includes a newly commissioned piece alongside selected works created over more than thirty years. r e a's practice examines how colonization affects queer and Indigenous communities, exploring themes of intersectionality, memory and representation through layered text, image and color. The exhibition addresses how racial perspectives become ingrained in artistic expression and linguistic frameworks.
