Digital Artist Di Cao Presents Multicultural Identity Exploration in Tokyo Solo Exhibition

Multidisciplinary digital artist Di Cao presented his first solo exhibition 'Collective Body' at NEOI Gallery in Tokyo's Ginza district from February 23 to March 1, 2026. The exhibition, curated by Yulin Liu, attracted over one thousand visitors and marked a significant milestone in the artist's development as a multicultural practitioner. Di Cao's work reflects his artistic journey from China to the United Kingdom and now Japan. The NEOI Gallery, located in central Ginza, focuses on contemporary artworks with strong collectible value and operates with the philosophy that art and beauty can serve as means for mental healing. In 2025, Di Cao participated in the prestigious annual exhibition 'The Discerning Eye' at London's Mall Galleries and was selected for the international group show 'Art Evol 2025: Voices from the Undefined' presented at Saatchi Gallery and promoted by London Art Collective. His digital work 'Particle Prowess' was featured in the group exhibition 'Stay with the Murmur' at A Space Gallery in New York. Di Cao's artistic practice explores the relationship between technology and artistic perception through digital media, balancing technological experimentation with artistic reflection rather than emphasizing technical spectacle. His 'Normal People' series (2024-2025), consisting of 3D digital illustrations, examines themes of social norms, identity, and multicultural experience, drawing from his life between Shanghai and the UK from ages eighteen to thirty. Another work, 'Prayer' (2018-2024), explores spiritual symbolism by placing symbols from three major world religions together in a shared devotional space. Di Cao approaches digital art with focus on both form and perception, viewing the modeling and rendering process as reflective practice. He intends to continue exploring digital art while contributing to cross-media art networks in the UK, seeking stronger balance between experimentation and public engagement.
