Delphine Paul Appointed Director of Bordeaux School of Fine Arts

Delphine Paul, 40, will become director of the École supérieure des beaux-arts de Bordeaux (ebabx) on August 17, 2026. She succeeds Audry Liseron-Monfils, whose term began in April 2023 and was not renewed. Paul previously led the École supérieure des beaux-arts de Nîmes since September 2023. Prior to that, she served as director of studies and research at the École nationale supérieure de la photographie d'Arles from 2019. Her career includes roles as a mission officer at the Biennale de l'art africain contemporain de Dakar, coordinator for the Fédération des réseaux et associations d'artistes plasticiens (2007-2012), head of international relations at the École nationale supérieure d'arts de Paris-Cergy, inspector of creation and artistic education at the Ministry of Culture (from 2014), and advisor for visual arts at DRAC Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. She holds degrees in contemporary art history and cultural management. Paul will form a new management team with Mathilde Villeneuve, recruited as director of studies, replacing Annette Nève who held the post for 25 years. They join Hervé Alexandre, secretary general, who has been interim director since April 1. Ebabx, a public cultural cooperation institution under the pedagogical supervision of the Ministry of Culture, awards the DNA (Bachelor's) and DNSEP (Master's) degrees. Located in the Sainte-Croix district, the school had 255 students in 2024-2025, up from about 230 the previous year.
