De Buck Returns to Chelsea with Month-Long Pop-Up and Armory Show Presentation

This September, De Buck gallery from Ghent will debut its first pop-up exhibition in Chelsea, located at the newly renovated Arts Building, 529 West 20th Street. The exhibition will be open from September 3 to October 4, marking the gallery's return to the area. Rather than a traditional static display, the pop-up will feature rotating exhibitions weekly, fostering ongoing dialogue among artists of varying generations. The inaugural showcase includes works by Gommaar Gilliams and the late Roger Raveel, merging two generations of Belgian art. Gilliams' dreamlike, large-scale pieces will contrast with Raveel's works, creating a temporal conversation. This initiative is part of De Buck's strategy to maintain an active presence in New York alongside its involvement in the Armory Show.
