Dayton Art Institute Appoints Jessimi Jones as New Director & President

The Dayton Art Institute (DAI) has announced the appointment of Jessimi Jones, currently Director of the Springfield Museum of Art, as its new Director & President, effective October 19, 2026. The selection followed a nationwide search led by the DAI Board of Trustees Search Committee, which included community leaders, museum donors, and local artists. Jones brings over a decade of museum leadership experience, with expertise in education, public programs, community engagement, fundraising, capital development, and institutional leadership. During her six-year tenure at the Springfield Museum of Art, she oversaw the completion of a $7 million capital project. Her appointment marks a significant leadership transition for the Dayton Art Institute, which is known for its collection of art from around the world.
