Dawn Airey Appointed New Chair of Arts Council England

Dawn Airey has been named the new chair of Arts Council England, taking over from Sir Nicholas Serota, with her four-year tenure commencing on 1 August 2023, as announced by Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy. With over three decades of expertise, Airey has held significant positions, including CEO of Channel 5, managing director at Sky and ITV, and CEO of Getty Images from 2015 to 2018. She also leads the National Youth Theatre and Digital Theatre+, and since 2019, has been on the Barclays FA Women's Super League board. In 2023, she became chancellor of Edge Hill University and was interim chair of Channel 4 until last year. Sir Nicholas stepped down early after serving since February 2017, and Airey was honored as a CBE in the 2024 Birthday Honours.
