Data Visualization Exhibition Opens in NYC Subway Station

A new data visualization exhibition called Data Vandals Newsstand opened at the #6/51st Street subway station in New York City from April 3-5. Created by Jason Forrest and artist Jen Ray, the installation features interactive displays and the exhibition 'NY by the numbers.' The project coincides with the launch of the SVA MPS Data Visualization and Communications program, chaired by Forrest, which is accepting applications through April. The newsstand's exterior includes four sections: a historical chart of midtown, a rat mascot named Ratsy, station information, and data on New Yorkers' countries of origin. Additional events are planned for spring and summer, aiming to make data accessible to the public.
